Sunrise on Sapinero Mesa

A hiker enjoys a sunrise stroll on Sapinero Mesa, overlooking Blue Mesa Reservoir.

Under the Gunnison Public Lands Initiative, the mesa would become part of the Lake Gulch/Cebolla Creek Special Management Area. In the distance, Blue Mesa Reservoir and areas of the proposed Palisades SMA, Signal Peak SMA, Fossil Ridge RMA Addition, and the Stubb’s Gulch SMA can be seen.

Under the CORE Act, Blue Mesa Reservoir would become part of the Curecanti National Recreation Area.
