Moon Over Lodgepole Pine
A full moon rises over the shoulder of Prospect Hill near Breckenridge, Colorado. This view may not be seen in the area again for decades. Warming temperatures and drier weather have spurred an unprecedented mountain pine beetle infestation. According to the Rocky Mountain News, ‘Every large, mature lodgepole pine forest in Colorado and southern Wyoming will be dead within three to five years.’
